Outline

Since the demise of the Civic and CR-V, Honda Cars India is playing with two offerings — the Amaze and the City, with the Elevate recently joining the party. While the City is relatively fresh thanks to the generation update in 2020, the Honda Amaze is desperately awaiting a major overhaul. The next-gen Honda Amaze is around the corner and we have already shared a few details about what it is going to offer. Here are the top 5 things you need to know about the next-gen Honda Amaze.

Fresh Styling

As obvious as it gets, the new Honda Amaze will come with a fresh styling inside-out. Surprisingly, we have not managed to get any spied images of the next-gen Honda Amaze across the web, which is not the case in the mass-market segment atleast. Cars are often spotted on the roads wearing heavy camouflage and emission-testing equipment. Since the new-gen Amaze has not been spotted, we do not have an idea as to how it would look in real life. However, several reports claim that the new Amaze will take inspiration from the larger Honda sedans like the Civic and Accord.

Fresh Interior And Features

Coming to the interior, the next-gen Honda Amaze is likely to offer a revamped dashboard design featuring new design elements. The current Honda Amaze comes with a basic interior design that has started to feel dated now. Like the exterior, we can expect Honda to take a few cues from the larger sedan offerings. On the features front, the Honda Amaze could offer new features such as wireless smartphone charger, standard six airbags, lane-watch camera, new digital instrument cluster and more.

New Platform

While there is no concrete information on this, reports claim that the next-generation Honda Amaze will sit on a new platform. The new platform is already seen on the City and Elevate and Honda is likely to make some changes to make it cost effective for a small car like the Amaze. The new platform should mean better compliance to crash safety as well as better road manners thanks to the premium underpinnings.

Same Engine And Transmissions

That’s right. The next-gen Honda Amaze will continue to carry the same 1.2-litre normal petrol engine. The engine currently comes with the choice of two transmission options — a 5-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission. However, Honda can tune the engine for better response and power delivery while also offering better fuel efficiency than before.

Launch Timeline

The next-gen Honda Amaze is likely to be launched around September-November, 2024. Honda will likely capitalise on the upcoming festive season and open pre-bookings around August 2024. Like before, the Honda Amaze will continue to go against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. It is worth mentioning that Amaze’s biggest competitor, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, is also getting a generation change this year.
