KYC Compliance

According to the new guidelines, FASTags older than five years are required to be replaced. This is a mandate and isn’t optional. FASTags that are three to five years old are required to have their KYC details updated latest by October 31, 2024.

Linking Vehicle Information & Phone Number

FASTags are required to be linked to the vehicle’s chassis number, registration number, and the owner’s mobile number. This is aimed towards the motive of ‘One FASTag, One Vehicle’, and a particular FASTag will not be allowed to be used for multiple vehicles. For new vehicle purchases, this process is required to be done within 90 days of such purchase.

Uploading Photographs

Users are required to upload photographs of their vehicles including the front of the vehicle, sides of the vehicle, and a picture clearly showing the FASTag affixed on the vehicle to prevent its misuse.

Database Verification

This one is for the FASTag providers to take care of. Providers must verify their databases and ensure that information of each FASTag matches with that on the VAHAN database, to ensure accuracy of data and eliminate discrepancies, if any.

Last Date To Comply

The deadline provided by NPCI for consumers to comply with the new regulations is October 31, 2024, in order to avoid inconvenience at toll booths and ensure a smooth experience on the road.
