Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Averaging at around 16,350 units a month, Maruti Brezza sales topped the charts of the highest selling SUVs in India, even overtaking the Creta. The Brezza comes with a 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine, generating 103PS and 137Nm of torque. There’s also the option of a factory-fitted CNG, further widening the appeal of this SUV.

Hyundai Creta
As the Maruti Brezza climbs up the ladder, the Hyundai Creta takes the second spot, with Hyundai selling 96,743 units of the SUV over the last 6 months. The number of Hyundai Cretas sold every month is greater than the total monthly sales of quite a few mass market manufacturers.
Tata Punch
The record breaking Tata Punch slips down to the third spot in the best selling SUV list. Whether or not it should be called an SUV is a very debatable topic though. Tata Motors sold 91,833 units of the Punch over the last 6 months, averaging at around 15,300 units a month.
Mahindra Scorpio
The Scorpio has been the best selling Mahindra SUV in India consistently over the past few months, selling 84,243 units in the last 6 months itself. This includes the sale of both Mahindra Scorpio Classic as well as Mahindra Scorpio N. What’s interesting is the fact that Mahindra sells more diesel Scorpios than petrol ones.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Maruti Fronx is not just a better-looking Baleno. It proves to be an appealing package that bundles practicality, driveability, as well as a great design. MSIL has been able to sell 83,506 units of the Fronx over the last 6 months, averaging at roughly 13,900 units a month.

Tata Nexon
The Nexon ranks just behind the Fronx, selling 82,780 units during the same period. The Tata Nexon is available in a variety of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, electric, and now CNG too! It is, in fact, the first passenger car in India to get a turbocharged-petrol engine fitted with a CNG kit.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
The Maruti Grand Vitara, essentially a rebadged version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, sits at the seventh spot in the list of the most selling SUVs in India. MSIL sold 66,396 units of the Grand Vitara over the last 6 months, translating to a monthly average of 11,066 units a month.
Hyundai Venue
Hyundai sold 61,370 units of the Venue in the last 6 months, translating to an average of about 10,250 units a month. Its sister car, the Kia Sonet, slips out from the top selling SUVs in India list as the XUV700 makes it to the top 10, even overtaking the XUV 3XO.

Mahindra XUV700
As Kia India struggles to keep up with market demand, Mahindra takes advantage with the XUV700, dispatching 53,924 units in the last 6 months. It’s surprising to see that the XUV700 overtook the XUV 3XO, taking the ninth spot in the list.
Mahindra XUV 3XO
The Mahindra XUV 3XO sales have picked up the pace recently, taking over the sales of the Bolero Neo. Mahindra sold 50,672 units of the XUV 3XO in the last 6 months, translating to a monthly average of almost 8,450 units.
