1. Maruti Ertiga – 17,441 units
Maruti’s popular MPV Ertiga has crossed 17 thousand sales mark in September 2024. It remains in a continuously high demand due to its practical cabin, reliable engine, and affordable maintenance. Maruti also sells it with a CNG engine, that is loved by cab operators, and hence, the sales figures remain high. Not-to-mention, the absence of a direct rival to the Ertiga is also a key factor in its success.
2. Maruti Swift – 16,241 units
Maruti recently launched the fourth generation of Swift in India. It is one of the most popular hatchbacks, and with its newest iteration, it has brought newer features and added safety. Not to mention, the Z12E three-cylinder engine is very fuel efficient and it is also available with an automatic transmission. The overall design, brand value, reliable engine, and efficient performance are the main reasons behind Swift’s success.
3. Hyundai Creta – 15,902 units
Hyundai’s latest generation of Creta is doing good when compared to the sales of September 2024. There is a hike in sales figures, maybe due to the sped-up deliveries. Hyundai launched the facelifted version of Creta earlier this year, and ever since, it has been in continuous demand. All thanks to its versatile engine and gearbox options, spacious cabin, and Hyundai’s widespread sales network, the Creta is an all-time favourite among Indians.
4. Maruti Brezza – 15,322 units
The Brezza compact SUV is also in the top 10 selling cars list of September month. The reason behind its continuous success is value-for-money variants. If you want a comfortable and reliable B-SUV with a proper automatic transmission, Brezza VXI offers great value-for-money. Similarly, for consumers with high annual usage, CNG VXI and ZXI options offer a good mix of features and comfort.
5. Mahindra Scorpio/N – 14,438 units
Surprisingly, the Scorpio has made it to the top 10 selling cars list of September. All thanks to the Mahindra’s decision of not discontinuing the old Scorpio, and transforming it into the Classic, the sales of Scorpio brand are higher than ever. The Scorpio N, struggling with pending bookings, is also contributing to the big sales numbers. The Scorpio Classic offers a good value, as it is priced well below Rs 20 lakh mark. Also, the Scorpio N, with its new comfortable cabin and bigger dimensions, can be had within a budget of Rs 20-22 lakh.
6. Maruti Baleno – 14,292 units
The Maruti Baleno is also in popular demand as it stands at the sixth number in the sales chart of September. The reason behind its popularity is its value-for-money proposition. The spacious cabin and comfortable ride quality of Baleno are a key factor behind its success. Additionally, the CNG version of Baleno is efficient and the availability of the CNG option across variants is loved by new consumers. The AMT gearbox version is also affordable, which helps in pulling buyers from rival brands.
7. Maruti Fronx - 13,874 units
Maruti Suzuki cars have posted strong resurgence in the month of September 2024 as both the Baleno and Fronx make to the top 10 cars list. The Fronx is popular among the masses for its coupe-crossover-inspired bodystyle bundled with the efficiency, practicality and reliability of the popular Baleno hatchback. 8. Tata Punch – 13,711 Units
Unlike the past months when the Punch was topping the monthly sales charts, the charm of the Tata Punch has been on a decline. Nonetheless, the Tata Punch manages to retain its place in the top 10 monthly sales of September, which can be attributed to the popularity of both Punch ICE and EV variants. Furthermore, Tata Motors also launched the updated Punch with new features, the effect of which shall be seen in October 2024 sales.

9. Maruti WagonR – 13,339 Units
Another popular car in the list is the WagonR hatchback. The boxy design of WagonR is still pulling customers due to its practical cabin and offering of two engine options. Its CNG variants are value-for-money and very cheap to maintain. Moreover, WagonR is easy to drive in the city as its boxy design helps in easy parking and manoeuvres.
10. Maruti Eeco
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco, even after so many years from first launch, continues to set the sales chart on fire marking its presence in the monthly sales of September 2024.
