It’s no surprise that Maruti Suzuki dominates the list of India’s most-selling cars in July 2024. With just one sedan in this list of ten, the rest of the slots have been reserved by SUVs and hatchbacks. Here is a list of the top 10 best-selling cars in July 2024 in India.

Hyundai Creta was the best-selling car in India for the month of July 2024. This compact SUV comes with a variety of engine & transmission options — 1.5-litre petrol with 6-speed MT or CVT, 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 7-speed DCT — and is loaded with features to the brim, which make it a great package. 2.Maruti Suzuki Swift

 

Maruti Suzuki just gave the Swift a generational update earlier this year. MSIL sold 16,854 units of the Swift last month, making it to the second spot on the list of best-selling cars in India in July 2024. The Swift is now powered by a 1.2-litre Z-Series three-cylinder petrol engine, generating 80hp of power and 111.7Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki Swift price ranges between Rs 6.49 Lakh and Rs 9.59 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

 

3.Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 

 

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Wagon R has always managed to find a spot on the list of best-selling cars for as long as one can recall. Maruti Suzuki sold 16,191 units of the Wagon R in July 2024. The Maruti Wagon R is priced between Rs 5.54 Lakh and Rs 7.20 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

4.Tata Punch

Tata Punch is Tata’s highest selling car, and has been India’s highest selling car if we look at data over the past 6 months. It declined by 11.6% as compared to last month’s sales. Tata offers a wide range of powertrain options for the Punch — petrol, petrol with CNG, and electric. This makes the Punch appealing to a huge segment of buyers. Moreover, the Tata Punch is affordable, starting at just Rs 6.12 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

5.Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

 

Maruti Suzuki’s hot-selling MPV, the Ertiga, garnered sales of 15,701 units for MSIL in July 2024. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comes with a 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine, generating 102hp and 137Nm of torque. There’s an option of a factory-fitted CNG kit too. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga price ranges between Rs 8.69 Lakh and Rs 13.03 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

 

6.Maruti Suzuki Brezza

 

Maruti Suzuki’s Creta-rival Maruti Brezza was the sixth highest-selling car in India in July 2024, clocking 14,676 units of sales. The Brezza gets the same engine that is also offered on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. There’s an option for a factory-fitted CNG kit as well. The Brezza is priced between Rs 8.34 Lakh and Rs 14.14 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

 

7.Tata Nexon

 

The only other Tata to make it to this list, the Tata Nexon is also offered with a wide variety of powertrain options. It gets options for a petrol engine, diesel engine, and electric powertrain, with a CNG unit launching soon. ICE versions of the Tata Nexon start at Rs 7.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Nexon EV starts at Rs 14.49 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

 

8.Mahindra Scorpio

The Scorpio has been Mahindra’s best-selling vehicle consistently over the past few months. Mahindra sold 12,237 units of the Scorpio in July, which includes the sale of both Mahindra Scorpio Classic as well as theMahindra Scorpio N. It is noteworthy that Mahindra sells more diesel Scorpios than petrol ones. The Scorpio Classic is priced between Rs 13.62 Lakh and Rs 17.42 Lakh, while the Scorpio N price ranges from Rs 13.85 Lakh to Rs 24.54 Lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

9.Maruti Suzuki Eeco

 

Maruti Suzuki Eeco is Maruti’s all-rounder vehicle, which justifies the MPV tag. This workhorse is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series engine, generating 80.8PS and 104Nm of torque. The CNG variants generate 71.7PS of power and 95Nm of peak torque. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco price ranges from Rs 5.32 Lakh and Rs 6.58 Lakh (ex-showroom).

 

10.Maruti Suzuki Dzire

 

It’s quite sad that the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the only sedan to make it to this list. Nevertheless, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 11,647 units of the Dzire in July. Following the debut of the fourth-generation Suzuki Swift, the Dzire is also awaiting a generational update later this year. Prices for the Maruti Dzire start at Rs 6.56 Lakh and go up to Rs 9.33 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
