Tata Motors has created history by beating Maruti Suzuki’s 40 year record of selling the most number of units of a single nameplate in the Indian market. The car that gets the credit for doing so is the Tata Punch. Here’s everything you need to know about the best selling car in India in 2024.

Tata Punch sales in 2024

Tata Motors sold a cumulative 2,02,030 units of the Tata Punch in the calendar year 2024, i.e., from January 1, 2024 till December 31, 2024. This includes sales of all the variants of the Punch SUV, including all petrol, CNG, and electric variants.

Best selling cars in India 2024

The list of best selling cars in India in 2024 was heavily dominated by SUVs and crossovers, with the Tata Punch topping the charts, followed by the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the Hyundai Creta. Three out of the top five cars have come out to be SUVs. Furthermore, the share of SUVs and crossovers among the total cars sold in India in 2024 stood at 54%.

Tata Punch price in India

The Tata Punch is offered in a long list of variants with a starting price of Rs 6.12 lakh for the base petrol variant. The top-spec petrol variant is priced at Rs 10.14 lakh. Tata Punch CNG price in India ranges from Rs 7.22 lakh to Rs 10.04 lakh. The Tata Punch EV, which is quite popular among the current lineup of electric cars in India, is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.29 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
