Tata Motors sales continue to decline in the month of September as revealed by the latest data released by the manufacturer. Fall in sales of both passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles have contributed to this overall decline in sales. MoM and YoY analysis
Tata Motors witnessed a decline in sales as compared to both last month as well as the same period last year. When compared to the numbers from September 2023, the company saw a massive 15.5% fall while the sales remained more or less constant when compared to August 2024. Both domestic sales as well as exports contributed to this overall decline.
Tata Motors passenger vehicle sales
Domestic passenger vehicle sales fell by 15% from September last year while exports saw a negative growth of 51%. Speaking solely about Tata’s electric vehicle sales, the said metric also saw a 23% decline. Sales are expected to improve during the upcoming festive season in India.

Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales
September 2024 hasn’t been a good month for commercial vehicle sales either as the manufacturer saw a 23% decline in sales in India. Exports got hit by 24% as well, resulting in an overall decline of 23%. The trend was common across all categories, from HCV trucks to passenger carriers.
