Tata Motors December 2024 sales report — Numbers remain constant

The sales for Tata Motors had been more or less constant for the month of November 2024, when compared to the numbers from the same month last year. The figures for December reflect a similar trend, with a marginal increase in total sales in the domestic market. Please note that the sales numbers stated above reflect the number of units dispatched to dealers and they might vary from the actual number of units sold by dealerships. Furthermore, these numbers include sales of both passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles.

MoM and YoY analysis

Month-on-month sales grew by 4.6% resulting from a slight growth in domestic sales and an increase of a mere 58 units in exports. When compared to the same period last year, the carmaker saw a negligible growth of 0.4%, with a slight rise in domestic sales but a fall of 8.9% in total exports.

Tata Motors passenger vehicles

The carmaker noted a 1.4% increase in total passenger vehicle sales, with a 1.7% increase in domestic passenger vehicle sales and a significant 71.2% decline in exports. Tata electric vehicle sales grew by 11.1% factoring in both domestic and international sales.

Tata Motors commercial vehicles

Net commercial vehicle sales took a hit of 0.9% with 33,875 units sold in December 2024 against 34,180 sold in December 2023. Exports remained more or less the same, with a decrease of 6 units, but domestic sales declined by 299 units. Sales of passenger vehicles, however, saw a good 35.4% growth.
