More than 4 lakh charge points by 2027

The biggest news is Tata.ev’s aim to establish more than 4 lakh charge points across the country. It is worth mentioning that this figure will include chargers from Tata.ev as well as third party charging infrastructure providers. In order to achieve this figure, Tata Motors has collaborated with third party vendors under its Open Collaboration 2.0 project. Tata.ev will establish 30,000+ public charging stations across the country with its partners.

There have been other changes made to the program to accommodate other EV owners as well, while also ensuring a hassle-free experience. In order to facilitate the same, Tata.ev has launched a new dedicated 24x7 charging helpline for any queries around EV charging. In addition, the carmaker is also working on a unified payment wallet that will negate the use of multiple charging apps to pay for charging, which is quite a cumbersome process for EV owners.

Tata.ev Mega chargers

Under its revised EV charging roadmap, Tata.ev has also announced its range of Mega chargers. Tata.ev has collaborated with leading CPOs like Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq and Zeon to operationalize 500 Tata.ev Mega Chargers in 2 years, in the first phase. These chargers will be deployed across key cities and major highways. Furthermore, while these chargers will be open for all EV owners, Tata EV owners will be given priority access along with tariff benefits. These Mega Chargers will include DC fast chargers with 4 charging bays, which can be easily located via Tata.ev mobile app.
