Tata Curvv Teased - Top 5 Things To Know
- 1Tata Curvv official teaser out
- 2Tata Curvv to get a diesel powertrain too
- 3Launch expected later this year
Tata Motors has finally released the official teaser of its highly-anticipated coupe-SUV, the Tata Curvv, on the TATA.ev Youtube channel. The Curvv will be the fifth electric vehicle from the domestic automaker, further strengthening its position in the Indian EV market, which it is already dominating. The Tata Curvv will be built on Tata’s acti.ev platform, which is purpose-built for EVs. Here are the top 5 things to know about the upcoming Tata Curvv.
First Indian Coupe SUV
Owing to its distinct design, the Tata Curvv is set to be India’s first coupe SUV, marking a significant milestone in the Indian automotive industry. The Curvv will likely serve as a basis for other manufacturers to come up with their own versions of a coupe SUV.
EV-Derived Acti.ev Platform
The Tata Curvv will be Tata’s second car that will be based on the purpose-built Acti.ev platform, following the launch of the Tata Punch EV earlier this year. The Acti.ev platform is specifically built for EVs from ground up, unlike cars such as the Tiago EV and Tigor EV, which were built on an ICE platform.

EV Launch Before ICE
As indicated by Tata Motors themselves, we will see the EV version of the Tata Curvv before its ICE version. An ICE version of the Tata Curvv is certain to arrive, but it will do so after its electric sibling. The Tata Curvv is expected to launch later this year, although there hasn’t been any official communication from Tata regarding the Tata Curvv launch date in India yet.
Diesel Fans Rejoice!
As seen at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year, the Tata Curvv will get a diesel powertrain as well, apart from the petrol and EV options. The diesel engine is likely to be a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder unit, which is also seen on the Tata Nexon. The said engine produces 113bhp of power and 260Nm of torque.

Interior & Features
Though we didn’t get a glimpse of the Curvv’s interior in the teaser that Tata put out, we expect the Curvv to feature a minimalist modern interior, with fewer buttons and more controls embedded in the touch screen(s). The Curvv is expected to showcase Tata’s illuminated logo on the steering wheel and be equipped with features such as a 360 degree camera setup, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, ventilated seats, wireless phone charger and Level-2 ADAS.
