All-Electric Tata Curvv EV Launched - Price Starts At Rs 17.49 Lakh

Following much anticipation, the Tata Curvv EV is finally launched. Being among India’s first mass-market coupe SUVs, the Curvv.ev marks a significant milestone in the Indian auto industry. Claimed by Tata Motors to be their most innovative SUV yet, the Tata Curvv.ev is based on Tata's purpose-built Acti.ev platform. Here are all the details about the newly launched Tata Curvv EV Coupe SUV.

Tata Curvv EV Motors & Performance

The Tata Curvv.ev comes with a 123kW electric motor, enabling it to reach triple digits speed in just 8.6 seconds, making it Tata's fastest electric vehicle yet. It gets multi-mode regeneration with paddle shifters, along with support for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load power sharing. The Tata Curvv.ev can reach a top speed of 160kph.

Tata Curvv EV Battery & Charging Time

The Tata Curvv.ev gets two options for the battery — a 45kWh smaller battery pack and a 55kWh battery pack for the long range variants. The long-range variants get a 1.2C charging rate, enabling it to be charged for a range of 150 kilometres in just 15 minutes. The Curvv.ev can be charged from 10-80% in 40 minutes via a charger with more than 70kW of output. You can also charge it from 10-100% in 6.5 hours for the 45kWh variants and in 7.9 hours for the 55kWh variants with a 7.2kW AC home-fitted charger.

Tata Curvv EV Range

Tata Motors have developed their in-house testing cycle, based on data collected from over 4 billion kilometres of real-life EV usage. Dubbed as C75, the estimated range represents the range that will ideally be achieved by 75% of the users. MIDC range of the Curvv.ev stands at 585km while the C75 range lies between 400-425 kilometres, with the bigger 55kWh battery pack. 

Tata Curvv EV Safety Features

The Tata Curvv.ev gets 6 airbags, ESP, disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function and other features as standard across all variants. Select variants get Level-2 ADAS with 20 functionalities, 360-degree cameras and acoustic vehicle alert system for pedestrian safety. There's also ISOFIX child seat mounts, front and rear parking sensors, and TPMS on offer.

Tata Curvv EV Colours And Trims

Tata Curvv.ev is being offered in three trims, or as Tata prefers to call them — personas — Creative, Accomplished and Empowered. A total of seven variants are currently on offer, but many more will gradually join the lineup, as we've seen with other Tata vehicles recently. You get five exterior and three interior themes to pick from.

Tata Curvv EV Dimensions And Other Metrics

The Curvv.ev is 4,310mm long, 1,810mm wide and 1,637mm tall. It gets big 18-inch wheels with a ground clearance of 190mm. It has as water wading depth of 450mm. The acti.ev platform enables a 50:50 weight distribution. It gets a handsome 500 litres of boot space.

Tata Curvv EV Aerodynamic Aids

In order to make the car aerodynamically efficient and thus, bump up the range, designers of the Tata Curvv.ev have deployed a number of aerodynamic aids such as flush-door handles, wheel inserts, aero curtains and a coupe-like styling.

Tata Curvv EV Interior And Features

The Curvv.ev is loaded with features, including front ventilated seats, rear seats with recline levels, 9-speaker JBL sound system, voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, ambient lighting, cooled glovebox, rain-sensing wipers, air purifier, and what not.

Tata Curvv EV Price

The Tata Curvv.ev has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 17.49 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the base 45kWh Creative variant, which goes up till Rs 21.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully-loaded 55kWh Empowered +A variant. Will you pick this over its rivals?
