Tata Motors is currently one of the only car manufacturers which is continuously giving strong competition to brands like Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki in India. Despite an extremely strong portfolio and a diverse range of powertrain options, the Indian carmaker saw a major decline in sales in June 2024. While the Tata Punch continues to top the list of the best-selling cars in India, other cars reported a decline averaging 33% Y-o-Y. As per the reports shared by the brand, Tata cars June 2024 sales in India stood at a total of 43,527.

Tata Punch June 2024 Sales Decline By 3.75% M-o-M

The Tata Punch is the only Tata car in India to report positive year-on-year growth and challenges rivals like the Hyundai Exter and the Maruti Ignis in the Indian market. Offered with petrol, CNG and all-electric powertrain options, the Tata Punch not only offers a range of options for the buyers, but is also appreciated for its interior comfort, capabilities and strong safety standards. The brand reported a total sales of 18,238 units of the Tata Punch in June 2024.

Tata Nexon June 2024 Sales - Nexon EV Demand Falls

 

The Tata Nexon compact SUV is one of the strongest contenders in the compact SUV segment and reported a total sales of 12,066 units in June 2024. The decline in the automotive sales ahead of the festive season has taken a direct toll on the Nexon and we might see the sales figures going up in the coming months. Offered with petrol, diesel and all-electric powertrain, the Tata Nexon is a great option for anyone looking for a no-nonsense family SUV.

 

Tata Tiago Sales In June 2024

 

Positioned as the cheapest Tata car in India, the Tata Tiago was one of the most successful Tata cars and was the first CNG automatic car in India. With prices starting from Rs 5.65 lakhg (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Tiago is not only affordable but one of the safest cars in India available at this price point. For those wondering, the Tiago EV too enjoys a strong demand and gives a tough challenge to the cars like the MG Comet EV and the Citroen eC3.

Tata Altroz June 2024 Sales

 

The Tata Altroz is currently the only premium hatchback in India with a 5-star GNCAP safety rating and is offered in a number of versions including a performance-oriented Racer Edition. With a total sales of just 3,937 units, the car saw a 20.99% decline on an M-o-M basis while reporting around 45.70% Y-o-Y decline in the overall demand.

 

Tata Safari and Tata Harrier - Still In Demand?

The Tata Safari and the Tata Harrier are the brand’s flagship products in India and not only boast impressive GNCAP safety ratings, but also offer a premium, feature-rich and comfortable cabin. Both the SUVs are offered with dependable and powerful powertrain options. While a total of 1,394 units of the Safari were sold in June 2024, the Tata Harrier June 2024 sales on the other hand stood at 1,347 units.

Tata Tigor and Tata Tigor EV June 2024 Sales

 

With just 1,371 units sold in June 2024, the Tata Tigor saw the highest decline in demand in India. Offered with three different powertrain options, the Tata Tigor is one of the safest sedans in its segment and is priced from Rs 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
