Tata August 2024 sales - Passenger vehicle sales fall by 3%

It’s not just Hyundai or Maruti Suzuki whose sales took a hit in the month of August 2024. Tata Motors was another top-selling brand that witnessed a decline in sales last month. The decline was seen across passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles in terms of both domestic sales and exports. Here’s a detailed report on Tata August 2024 sales.

MoM and YoY analysis
Tata Motors saw a decline in sales as compared to both last month as well as the same month last year. Total sales dropped by a negligible margin of 313 units from July 2024. But, when compared to August 2023, the sales declined by a significant 8.1%. A major decline in domestic sales contributed the most to this trend.
Tata Motors passenger vehicle sales
In the month of August 2024, Tata Motors sold 44,142 cars in the Indian market, which include ICE vehicles as well as EVs. This was a 3% decline from last year. Exports to other countries stood at 344 units. Total Tata electric vehicle sales stood at 5,935 units, including domestic as well as international sales.

Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales
During the same period, commercial vehicle sales declined by 15%. Domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 25,864 units and exports contributed to another 1,343 units, reaching a total commercial sales figure of 27,207 units. Exports rose marginally by 14 units and the sale of passenger carriers saw a good 14% growth. Rest of the segments witnessed a decline in sales.
