Let’s take a closer look at what the upcoming 1.5L turbo petrol variant of the Skoda Kushaq might bring to the table.
Skoda Kushaq to get new variants for improved value proposition
Skoda is expected to introduce more affordable trims of the Kushaq with the 1.5L TSI engine, aiming to strengthen its position in the market. Petr Janeba, the Brand Director of Skoda India, shared his thoughts on the launch of the new Skoda Kylaq, addressing concerns about its potential impact on the Skoda Kushaq's buyer base. Janeba further stated, “There is something we can do with the feature set on the Kushaq and the warranty structure. We will create a different value proposition to keep cannibalization as low as possible.”

According to Janeba, 85% of Kushaq’s current sales come from the 1.0L variants. However, with the Kylaq entering the market, the share of 1.5L variants is expected to increase. Meanwhile, the sales contribution of the Kushaq’s 1.0L variants might drop to around 65-70% of total sales.
