Nissan X-Trail Launch Date

Nissan India will launch the new X-Trail on August 1, 2024. The Japanese carmaker took the wraps off the India-spec X-Trail in Delhi, showing its features and specifications ahead of the national drive. The new X-Trail will re-launch Nissan’s CBU import business, with the X-Trail being the first CBU offering. While Nissan India showcased the ePower version of the X-Trail, the India-bound model is going to offer a turbo petrol engine option only.

The dimensions of the India-bound Nissan X-Trail are 4,680mm in length, 1,840mm in width, 1,725mm in height and has a 2,705mm long wheelbase. It gets 20-inch tyres and 210mm of ground clearance. Coming to its features, the X-Trail offers a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera setup, wireless smartphone charger, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital driver's display, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function and dual-zone climate control, among other features.

As we mentioned earlier, the India-spec X-Trail will get a turbo petrol engine and not a strong hybrid engine, as was showcased at the first event. The X-Trail gets a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This mill will generate an output of 163PS and 300Nm of torque. Complementing the engine is a 12V mild-hybrid system. The power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox, making it a front wheel drive only whereas the rivals offer all-wheel drivetrain options.

The Nissan X-Trail will be launched in the Indian market as a completely built unit (CBU), thus attracting heavy tax impositions. As a result, its ex-showroom price could fall in the range of 35-40 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. The launch of the X-Trail is part of Nissan India’s sustenance plan while the Japanese carmaker readies the new compact SUV, which will come in both 5- and 7-seater configurations.
