Nissan Magnite facelift India launch on October 4 — Top things to know
- 1Nissan India to launch the updated Magnite facelift on October 4
- 2New Nissan Magnite facelift to feature small design changes
- 3To carry over the same set of powertrain options as before
After the launch of the X-Trail premium family SUV, Nissan India is gearing up to launch the Magnite facelift in the Indian market. The Magnite is the most important model in Nissan India’s lineup as it has been the only model on sale for nearly 3 years. We share the top things that you need to know ahead of the Nissan Magnite facelift India launch.
Small nip and tuck
With the launch of the facelift, Nissan aims to update the Magnite’s exterior and interior design with a minor nip and tuck. The Magnite has always been a smart looking compact SUV that has also stood the test of time very well. However, with the launch of new cars like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Kia Sonet, the Magnite has lost its new-ness. With the facelift, we expect Nissan to offer a tweaked set of LED headlights and tail lights, revised radiator grille, reprofiled bumpers and new alloy wheels.

More premium interior
The interior of the Nissan Magnite is great to look at, with its Urus-inspired AC vents and toggle-button-like HVAC controls. However, it falls a bit short when it comes to the quality. The plastics rattle and the panel does not quite align properly. With the facelift, we expect Nissan to improve the fit and finish levels and also the overall quality of plastics used inside the cabin. We can also see small practicality enhancements like a front armrest with storage and a revised centre console offering better cubby spaces.
New features
On the features front, the Magnite scores well even today, with features such as 360-degree surround view camera, wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger, digital instrument cluster and more. However, with the facelift, Nissan could further offer features such as leatherette seat upholstery with ventilation, auto-dimming IRVM, 6 airbags and buyers’ favourite — an electric sunroof.
Same engine options
With the facelift, we do not expect Nissan India to offer any mechanical changes. It is likely to continue with the same 1.0-litre normal petrol and turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine options. Both these engines score good on frugality and affordability but fall short when it comes to refinement. We expect Nissan to tune the powertrains to offer superior refinement and performance over that of the outgoing model.

Launch on October 4
As we mentioned earlier, Nissan will launch the Magnite facelift on October 4, 2024. The bookings are also likely to open on the same day, followed by dealership dispatches and deliveries. The Nissan Magnite will continue to go against the likes of the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Renault Kiger and Citroen C3. The higher variants of the Magnite will also clash with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
