Outline

Hyundai’s best-selling model—the Creta—is expected to receive its generation change soon. As per reports, Hyundai has already begun the development of the 3rd-generation Hyundai Creta SUV that could be launched in the Indian market in the year 2027. Internally codenamed as SX3, the new-gen Hyundai Creta is likely to bring big advancements to the C-segment SUV space.

Next-gen Hyundai Creta details

Given the popularity of the Creta in the C-segment space, it is one of the most-important for not only Hyundai, but for the Indian automotive market. Despite that, Hyundai has not shunned away from experimenting with the design of the Creta SUV, which has received its own share of criticism too. The new-gen Creta is likely to carry a new design but what remains to be seen is whether the new design will be controversial or people-pleasing. We also expect significant changes to the platform of the Creta, given its relatively poor performance in crash tests.

New Creta could get even more features

We are not sure what features these would be, but Hyundai will not leave any stones unturned to cram as many features in the new Creta. Even today, the Creta comes with features such as Level-2 ADAS, twin 10.25-inch screens, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, surround view camera, Bose sound system and a lot more. In addition to the new features that Hyundai may introduce, we expect the carmaker to also improve the fit and finish levels on the inside, for a more premium experience over what the Creta already offers.

Creta hybrid incoming?

A larger part of the speculation that has been stirring around is about the expected launch of the Creta hybrid. It’s no secret that hybrid cars make a lot of sense, especially for a market like India, which is not efficient with its charging infrastructure that’s required for a complete adoption of electric vehicles. The 3rd-gen Hyundai Creta could come with a strong hybrid powertrain to go against the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder hybrids. This move should bridge the gap between the Creta ICE and Creta Electric.
