New Tata Nexon CNG launched in India – Everything you need to know

Out of nowhere, Tata Motors launched the Nexon iCNG today. With the Tata Nexon CNG price starting from Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), it marks a series of firsts. It is the first passenger car in India to come equipped with a powertrain that features a turbocharged petrol engine and a factory-installed CNG kit. It also becomes the country’s first car to be offered with the choice of a petrol, diesel, CNG and electric powertrain. Not to forget that it the first CNG car in India get a 6-speed manual transmission. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Tata Nexon CNG.

2024 Tata Nexon CNG

First showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year, the launch of the Tata Nexon CNG was a much awaited one. Based on the ICE Tata Nexon, the CNG version is being offered in a choice of eight variants, taking the cumulative Tata Nexon variant count to 108 (including the Nexon EV). Back to the Nexon CNG now, it gets a handsome 321 litres of boot space, thanks to the twin-cylinder technology.

New Tata Nexon CNG powertrain

The Tata Nexon CNG retains the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit that comes paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. We might also see an AMT in the future. The Revetron engine produces 100PS of power and 170Nm of peak torque when run on CNG. The Tata Nexon CNG mileage is claimed to be 24km/kg.  

Nexon iCNG features

The new Tata Nexon iCNG is packed with features, a few of them being front ventilated seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display with navigation, 8-speaker sound system, voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras, front & rear parking sensors, auto-dimming IRVM, and automatic wipers.

2024 Tata Nexon iCNG price in India

The Tata Nexon CNG price in India starts at Rs 8.99 lakh for the entry-level Smart variant and goes up till Rs 14.59 lakh for the fully-loaded Fearless + PS variant.
