JSW MG Motor India has launched the MG Comet EV black edition that it teased yesterday, at a price of Rs 7.80 lakh with the Battery-as-a-Service scheme. The Comet becomes the first MG electric car in India to be offered in an all-black theme. Here’s everything you need to know about the new MG Comet Blackstorm.
2025 MG Comet EV Blackstorm

The Comet EV Blackstorm is essentially a dark edition of the MG Comet EV that was one of the best selling MG cars in India until the launch of the MG Windsor EV. The Comet Blackstorm gets noticeable exterior enhancements, interior changes, and a few feature additions over the regular MG Comet EV.
MG Comet EV Blackstorm exterior

Exterior of the new MG Comet Blackstorm is finished in Starry Black colour with blacked-out wheel covers featuring red accents. The red accents are carried over throughout the body, and there’s a decent amount of chrome used as well. The MORRIS GARAGES badge on the hood is also finished in red.

Naturally, the all-black theme is replicated on the inside with black leatherette upholstery for the seats along with Blackstorm embossed in red on the headrests. The seats also get red contrasting stitching that goes well with the overall theme.
New MG Comet EV Blackstorm features
The Blackstorm edition is based on the top-spec MG Comet variant, which is the MG Comet EV Exclusive FC. Key MG Comet features that can be seen on the black edition include a twin-screen setup on the dashboard, manual air-conditioner, digital key, USB ports, and more. While the regular Comet gets a two-speaker system, which is quite disappointing, the Comet Blackstorm gets a four-speaker setup that is expected to make things better on the audio front. Some of the MG Comet EV Blackstorm safety features include dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESC, rear parking sensors, and more.
