Adult occupant protection
The Dzire scored 31.24 points out of a maximum of 34 points for adult occupant protection, translating to a five-star rating in this aspect. The heads of the dummies showed good protection in all cases, while the torso showed marginal to adequate protection.
Child occupant protection
The Dzire scored 39.20 points out of a maximum of 49 points for child occupant protection, translating to a four-star rating in this aspect. A detailed report on the crash test, its outcome, and findings can be accessed here.
New Dzire safety features
The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBS, 3 point seatbelts for all passengers, and ESC, as standard. Other safety features include ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill-hold assist, rear defogger, and more. The outgoing model lacked a lot of these features and even 3 point seatbelts weren’t standard for all the passengers. Noteworthily, Maruti Suzuki will continue selling the previous generation Dzire as the Tour S for commercial use for the foreseeable future due to handsome sales numbers.

Disclaimer
Crash test ratings aren’t the sole or the most accurate indicators that reflect how safe would the occupants be in the event of a crash. Other factors that should be considered in order to determine how safe a car is are driver comfort, driver assistance systems, structural integrity of the vehicle and more. Furthermore, the occupants have to adhere to the safety norms such as using seatbelts on all the seats, whether at the front or rear, as well as using child seats for any children travelling in the vehicle, in order to let the safety features protect them in case of a mishap. No matter how safe a car has been proven to be, there are chances of major injuries or even fatalities if all the necessary precautions are not taken by the occupants.
