Maruti Suzuki has launched the next-gen Dzire today at an impressive starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new generation distinguishes itself from its predecessor by adopting a totally different styling, new platform, new interior, and a new engine. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
Fourth generation Dzire
Based on the new Heartect platform that it shares with the new Maruti Suzuki Swift, the newly launched Dzire is the fourth generational model of the sub-compact sedan. It measures the same as the outgoing model, apart from the height, which has been bumped up by a centimetre.
New Dzire engine and transmission options
The Dzire now comes equipped with Maruti Suzuki’s latest Z-Series engine, which is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol unit. It produces a maximum power output of 82PS and a peak torque of 111.7Nm. Claimed fuel efficiency has gone up from the outgoing model, just like in case of the 2024 Maruti Swift. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. A CNG version has also been announced from the introduction only.
Design and dimensions
The new Maruti Dzire looks rather appealing, featuring a complete redesign with new angular headlights connected by a thin bar of chrome. There’s a huge grille further down along with tiny fog lamps placed on either side. A similar design language is seen at the rear end, with the tail lights connected by a thicker chrome bar. There’s a shark fin antenna on the top and the rear lights might remind you of those of the Audi RS e-tron. A spoiler on the boot lid complements the overall look. The alloy wheel design is also fresh and looks nice.

In terms of safety features, it gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, rear defogger, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and more.
