Lexus has revealed the eighth generation of its entry-level sedan at the Shanghai Motor Show 2025, featuring electric powertrains for the first time. The updated sedan gets a thorough exterior revamp, a new interior, and new powertrain options. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Lexus ES sedan.

2026 Lexus ES powertrain options

The new Lexus ES will be offered in a choice of four powertrains — two hybrid and two electric. Both types of powertrains have the option of a front-wheel-drive and an all-wheel-drive configuration. Detailed specifications that have been disclosed as of now are given in the table below.

New Lexus ES dimensions and design

Lexus has adopted a radical approach to styling for the new generational model. The ES gets a more aggressive look with contours on the doors, a thin strip for the rear lights, a Camry-like front end, and aggressive bumpers. The sedan has been extended in every direction, and the new dimensions are given in the table below. 

Lexus ES interior and features

The interior also features a vast change, and we liked the older one better in every manner. Upcoming Lexus ES India launch

The new generation Lexus ES launch in India isn’t likely to take place before 2026. Lexus is yet to confirm the powertrain options that will be made available here.
