The new Kia Sonet facelift was launched in January 2024 and has already achieved the impressive milestone of 1 lakh sales. According to Kia, the new Sonet is seeing an average of nearly 10,000 sales per month. The pricing for the new Sonet starts at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 14.92 lakh. It is available in eleven variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+, and X-Line. Keep reading below for more detailed information about this model.
Kia Sonet sales growth and the top-performing variants
After its facelift, the Kia Sonet not only boasts a refreshed look but also offers an expanded range. About 76% of customers have opted for the gasoline engines, while the remaining 24% chose the 1.5L diesel-powered variant. Interestingly, the sunroof has proven to be a popular feature, with variants equipped with sunroofs making up 79% of overall sales.
Additionally, automatic and intelligent manual transmissions account for 34% of total sales. In November, the Kia Sonet recorded 9,255 unit sales, compared to 6,433 units in the same month last year. This represents a significant 43.87% year-on-year growth.

The new Kia Sonet offers three engine options: a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol, a 1-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. Nevertheless, if you're looking for the turbo petrol engine, the pre-facelift Sonet also offers it. So, if you're focused on a particular engine option, you can also look into a used Kia Sonet.
The Sonet stands out with 15 robust standard safety features and over 70 connected car features. It also comes with 10 ADAS Level 1 features. Kia also claims that the Sonet has the lowest maintenance costs in its segment, with maintenance for the petrol variants being 16% lower, and for the diesel variants, 14% lower, than the segment average.
