New Honda Amaze teased ahead of launch tomorrow — 5 things to expect
- 1Design inspired by both the Elevate and the City
- 2Gets a revamped interior with an updated dashboard layout
- 3Likely to retain the same 1.2-litre NA petrol engine
We’re just one day away from the official Honda Amaze launch, and Honda has just released a teaser video of the same to spice up the excitement. Featuring a design that’s been inspired from its elder siblings and a fresh new interior, the new generation Amaze will directly go against the new Maruti Dzire as well as other cars in the same segment. Here are 5 things to expect from the new Honda Amaze ahead of its launch tomorrow.
New design (well, almost)
The recently released spy shots reveal that the rear design of the upcoming Honda Amaze closely resembles that of the current generation Honda City, while the front end looks very similar to that of the Honda Elevate. On the side, there’s a strong shoulder line that can be seen on the outgoing model as well. We’ll show you a closer look at the new Amaze tomorrow; be sure to stay tuned to our Instagram handle for the same!
Revamped interior
The interior is another place that is set to get a complete revamp, with the leaked images showing rectangular AC vents that are part of a strip that runs throughout the length of the dashboard, a touchscreen for infotainment on the top, and HVAC controls below the panel.

Tech features
The design sketches that were released by Honda a while back revealed a lane keeping assist indicator on the MID, which suggests that the Amaze will be the first car in its segment to offer ADAS functionalities. These will be camera-based and not radar-based, as seen on the City and the Elevate. Other expected features include cruise control, a sound system with tweeters, a wireless smartphone charger, and more.
Engine
The powertrain is likely to be continued from the current generation Honda Amaze. The said powertrain includes a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. Honda should also offer the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit, which is currently available as a dealer-level modification.

New Honda Amaze expected price
The outgoing model of the Honda Amaze is priced between Rs 7.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect the updated model to be priced starting from Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom) to ensure it competes strongly with the new Maruti Dzire.
