New Honda Amaze CNG launched as a dealer retrofit option — Costs Rs 1 lakh extra

The new Honda Amaze was initially launched with only a petrol engine option, which was the same as the previous generation model. However, there's good news for CNG lovers— the CNG option is available for the new Honda Amaze. 

While the petrol version comes with a factory-fitted setup, customers opting for the CNG will need to visit the dealership for a retrofit CNG kit installation. Let’s dive deeper into the details of the new Honda Amaze CNG model, including pricing, warranty, specs, and more.

2024 Honda Amaze CNG price and process for CNG fitting

If you're eyeing the Honda Amaze CNG, you probably have a lot of questions. The first one that comes to mind is, how much Honda Amaze CNG will it cost? Since the CNG powertrain is a dealership-fitted option, you'll need to buy the regular petrol Amaze first. There’s an additional cost of around Rs 1 lakh for the conversion to CNG, though this amount can vary depending on the state and its taxation policies.

The conversion from petrol to CNG will be handled by dealerships in collaboration with RTO-approved CNG retrofitting facilities. A great bit of news for customers is that this CNG conversion isn't limited to just new Amaze cars. Even the previous-gen Amaze models can be converted to CNG. All you need to do is visit any dealership partnered with an RTO-approved CNG fitment centre, pay the required amount, and get the conversion done.

What warranty coverage does the new Honda Amaze CNG have?

Another important question that comes to mind is about the warranty. Rest assured, customers get all the manufacturer warranties with the Honda Amaze CNG too. There's no need to worry about running around for it; you just need to complete some documentation formalities, including signing a few papers at the dealership where the CNG kit is being fitted.

The final step involves updating the vehicle’s fuel type from petrol to petrol-CNG. For this, the dealership will send your Honda Amaze to the RTO. Once that’s done, your Amaze is ready in its new form.

As for warranty details, the Honda Amaze comes with a 3-year standard warranty with unlimited kilometres, an extended warranty of up to 7 years with unlimited kilometres, and an anytime warranty option for up to 10 years, also with unlimited kilometres.

New Honda Amaze engine options

The new Honda Amaze petrol engine features a 1.2L capacity, producing 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque. It comes with a choice of either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT gearbox. As for the Honda Amaze CNG, it is expected to offer slightly lower power and torque figures.

For those interested in Honda cars but find the prices a bit above their budget, considering second-hand Honda cars could be a good, budget-friendly option.

2024 Honda Amaze price, colour options, & delivery timeline

The new Honda Amaze price starts at Rs 8 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.90 lakh. It is available in three variants: V, VX, and ZX. The Amaze is available in six exterior shades: Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, and Platinum White Pearl. Bookings for the new Amaze have already started, and deliveries will begin in January 2025.
