New BYD eMax 7 launched in India — Everything you need to know

BYD has launched the new eMax 7 MPV in India today, at a starting price of Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Essentially a facelift of the BYD e6, the eMax 7 is set to cater to both commercial and passenger vehicle markets and it gets a host of enhancements and changes over its predecessor. Battery, range and motors

The 2024 BYD eMax 7 gets two options for the powertrain — a 55.4kWh battery pack that powers a 163PS front-mounted electric motor, and a 71.8kWh battery pack that powers a 204PSfront-mounted electric motor. Both the powertrains produce 310Nm of peak torque. The claimed NEDC (why, BYD?) range of the eMax 7 is announced to be 420km for the lower variant and 530km for the upper variant.

Design and styling

The eMax 7 has a more elegant design than that of the e6, featuring a chrome grille that joins both the headlights. The front bumper is flanked by large air ducts. At the rear, there are connected tail lights, a roof spoiler, and a shark fin antenna at the top. It is offered in four colour options — Cosmos Black, Crystal White, Harbour Grey, and Quartz Blue.

Dimensions

The BYD eMax 7 measures 4,710mm in length, 1,810mm in width, 1,690mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,800mm. It sits on 17-inch alloy wheels and has a ground clearance of 170mm. 

eMax 7 features and interior

The BYD eMax 7 gets electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen that can be rotated, wired Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, a 5-inch TFT driver's display, ventilated front seats, LED headlamps, LED rear lights, 6 speakers, automatic climate control with PM2.5 filter, and more. There is a single dual-tone black and brown interior colour theme on offer. In terms of safety features, the eMax comes equipped with 6 airbags, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESC, traction control system, hill-hold control and other features as standard across all variants.

BYD eMax 7 price, bookings, and deliveries

The BYD eMax 7 price starts at Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Premium 6-seater variant and goes up till Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Superior 7-seater variant. Bookings have already been commenced against a token amount of Rs 51,000. First 1,000 customers who have already booked the eMax as of October 7 are entitled to get benefits worth Rs 51,000 and so will those who’ll take delivery of their EV on or before March 25, 2025. 

BYD is offering an 8 years or 1,60,000km warranty on the battery, and 8 years or 1,50,000km warranty on the motor. Stay tuned to CARS24 New Cars for latest updates!
