Just two weeks after launching the super-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV in the country, Mercedes-Benz has launched the ‘regular’ Mercedes EQS SUV today. Confidently standing up to its description as the electric S-Class of SUVs, the EQS SUV aims to provide comfort and convenience like no other SUV on the market. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 SUV battery and motors
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is offered in the 580 4Matic trim here, which is powered by a pair of permanent magnet synchronous motors that generate a combined output of 544PS of power and 858Nm of torque. The EQS 580 comes with an all-wheel drive system and has an electronically limited top speed of 210kmph. The SUV takes just 4.7 seconds to reach a speed of 100kmph from standstill. Talking about the battery, it gets a 122kWh battery pack that powers both the electric motors.

EQS 580 range and charging time
The humongous battery pack gives the EQS 580 SUV a claimed ARAI range of 809 kilometres. The SUV can be charged from 0 to 80% in 31 minutes using a fast 200kW DC charger, while a full charge via a more-widely available 22kW charger will take you around 6.25 hours.

Mercedes-Benz EQS interior and features
The cabin of the EQS 580 acts like a cocoon, completely isolating you from the outside world and providing immense comfort and convenience. It features seven seats as standard in the Indian-spec version. The first and second row seats get electrically adjustable functions. On the infotainment front, there’s the Mercedes Hyperscreen on duty, which comprises a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch co-driver screen. Complementing this setup is a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, a panoramic sunroof, rear seat entertainment, and a five-zone climate control. The comprehensive feature list is too long for us to fit here.
