MG Windsor price hiked for first time in India — Old vs new prices list

The MG Windsor EV was launched in India on 11th September 2024. Since its launch, this model has positively impacted MG's sales, becoming the best-selling EV in India by November 2024. It also emerged as the top-selling model in MG's lineup. 

Over the last few months, the EV was sold at an introductory price, but now the prices have been increased by Rs 50,000. As a result, the MG Windsor EV price starts at Rs 13.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.99 lakh. In addition to the MG Windsor EV price hike, battery rental prices have also been raised. How much has the MG Windsor EV price hiked in India?

The recent MG Windsor price hike has resulted in a Rs 50,000 increase across all three variants—Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. Previously, the EV was priced starting at Rs 13,49,800, going up to Rs 15,49,800. Following the price hike, the new MG Windsor EV price now ranges from Rs 13,99,800 to Rs 15,99,800.

MG Windsor EV battery rentals now cost more 

Under the MG Windsor EV BaaS program, the price for the model remains unchanged, but the battery rental fee has seen an increase. The MG Windsor EV battery rental fee was previously Rs 3.50 per km, and it has now risen by 40 paise, bringing it to Rs 3.90 per km.

MG Windsor EV battery & range 

The MG Windsor EV battery has a capacity of 38kWh and is mated to a single motor delivering 136PS of power and 200Nm of torque. It comes with a claimed range of 332km on a full charge. With the 3.3kW charger, the MG Windsor EV takes around 13.8 hours to charge from 0% to 100%. The 7.4kW charger takes 6.5 hours. Additionally, the 50kW fast charger can charge the battery from 0% to 80% in just 55 minutes.
