MG Windsor EV prices, variants, and rental battery option explained
The MG Windsor EV bookings will open on October 3rd, with deliveries starting from October 12th. This electric car comes in three variants. The base variant, Excite, is priced at Rs 13,49,800. The mid-level variant, Exclusive, costs Rs 14,49,800, and the top-end variant, Essence, is priced at Rs 15,49,800. There's a Rs 1 lakh difference between these variants.
For a more budget-friendly option, customers can choose the Windsor EV with a battery rental program. This version is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, but here, you’re only paying for the car. MG has teamed up with four financiers to offer customers rental packages. These partners include Bajaj Finance Limited, Herofin Corp, VidyutTech, and Ecofy & Autovert. Customers can only go through these financiers to purchase the MG battery rental package.
Financier | Minimum Running (km/month) | Per km Charges (Rs) | Monthly Charge (Rs) | Yearly Charge (Rs) | Pay for Additional km |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bajaj Finance | 1500 | 3.5 | 5250 | 63,000 | No |
Herofin Corp | 1500 | 3.5 | 5250 | 63,000 | Yes |
Ecofy & Autovert | 1500 | 5.8 | 8700 | 104,400 | Yes |
Vidyut Tech | 0 (There's no actual minimum running package, but let's still consider the 1500 km) | 3.5 | 5250 | 63,000 | On actual running |
The rental fees for the battery range from Rs 3.5/km to Rs 5.8/km, depending on the financier you choose for the battery rental. This makes it a great choice for customers who want to enjoy the benefits of an EV without the full upfront cost of the battery. If you opt for the full variant (Excite, Exclusive, or Essence), the battery is included in the price, so you don’t have to pay extra for its usage.
