MG Windsor EV India Debut Set For September 11

MG Motor India has announced the India debut date for the Windsor EV, which is slated for September 11, 2024. The new Windsor EV will sit between the Comet EV and ZS EV and offer a premium interior with lounge-like rear seats for utmost comfort. MG Windsor Electric CUV Details

As we stated earlier, the India-bound MG Windsor is already on sale in several global markets including Indonesia, where it’s called the Wuling Cloud EV. Like in the past, we do not expect MG Motor India to bring radical changes to the electric CUV compared to the global-spec model, except for the rebranding that is required for the Indian market. Since MG is calling it the CUV, we expect the carmaker to increase its ground clearance, in order to make it friendly to our roads.

MG Windsor Battery, Motor Specifications

Globally, the Wuling Cloud EV/MG Windsor comes with a 50.6kWh battery pack, which sits on a skateboard EV platform. The battery pack feeds power to a front-mounted single motor that can be driven for up to 460 km on a single charge. The permanent magnet synchronous electric motor produces 134PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Coming to the charging, the Windsor is capable of replenishing its battery from 30-100% in under 30 minutes via a DC fast charger. An AC charger, on the other hand, takes around 7 hours for a 20-100% charge. 

MG Windsor Features

Like in the case with other MG models, the MG Windsor will come packed with loads of features. A few of these features, which are also on offer with the global model, include automatic LED headlights with connected light bar, 18-inch alloy wheels, powered front seats, 15.6-inch infotainment system, an 8.8-inch TFT instrument cluster, Level-2 ADAS features, front and rear armrests with storage, 360-degree parking camera, electric tail gate and more.

MG Windsor Launch, Bookings And Rivals

The MG Windsor EV will be revealed in the Indian market on September 11, 2024 and we expect the carmaker to also open bookings on the same day. It is unclear whether the MG Windor price will be announced on the debut day or at a later date. Once launched, the MG Windsor will go against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 400.
