MG Motor India July 2024 Sales — 4,572 Units Sold

JSW MG Motor India has sold over 4,572 units in the month of July 2024. The carmaker revealed that its new energy vehicle portfolio, which includes electric vehicles, contributes over 35 per cent in this month’s sales. Moving forward, JSW MG Motor India will continue to expand its new energy vehicle portfolio, with the first launch planned of an electric CUV. As we mentioned earlier, JSW MG Motor India sold 4,572 units in the month of July 2024. The EVs contributed 35 per cent, bringing 1,601 units whereas the ICE vehicle portfolio contributed 2,971 units, with a share of 64.98 per cent. Coming to the year-on-year sales, the YOY sales of JSW MG Motor India decreased by 8.78 percent. In July 2023, the carmaker sold 5,012 units, which was an increase of 440 units compared to the July 2024 sales.

JSW MG Motor India Future Plans
Building on the growth of new energy electric vehicles, MG Motor India is set to expand its EV lineup, with the launch of the new electric CUV. The carmaker has already revealed the name of the new CUV, which will be called the Windsor EV. It is worth mentioning that the Windsor EV is already on sale in other global markets under the Wuling brand named Cloud EV. The Cloud EV was recently showcased at the 2024 GIIAS auto show and the similar spec is headed to the Indian market, based on the limited amount of images and teaser videos we have access to.

In addition to the MG Windsor EV, MG Motor India will also introduce new mass-market and premium models in the country, ensuring its market share to grow moving forward. While EVs play a big role in MG Motor India’s roadmap, the carmaker is also looking at hybrids and plug-in-hybrids as an alternative to lure new buyers, who are not yet ready to completely switch to its all-electric portfolio.
