MG Motor India confirms four luxury cars by 2026 — To go on sale via 12 MG Select dealerships

Ever since the merger with JSW, MG Motor India has been on its toes in introducing new models and interesting purchase plans to keep the limelight on. As we come closer to the launch of MG’s first luxury car — the Cyberster electric roadster — MG Motor India has confirmed to introduce 4 luxury cars by the year 2026, which will go on sale via the newly introduced MG Select dealerships. MG confirms four luxury cars by 2026

MG Motor India has confirmed its plans to launch four new luxury cars in the Indian market by 2026. The first of the lot is set to be the Cyberster, which will be showcased and launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025. MG calls the Cyberster its fastest electric roadster, which is quite ironic since the Cyberster is the only roadster from MG on sale at this point, let alone of being fastest or/and electric.

Leaving that apart, the Cyberster is an impressive package and one-of-a-kind, thanks to its modern design interpretation, convertible soft-top roof and exhilarating performance. The Cyberster is likely to lead the brand’s premium range of cars, which is likely to be accompanied by electric/hybrid/plug-in-hybrid models. While there is no clarity on the choice of models, the ones including the MG 4 hatchback, updated MG ZS and the Mafia van carry a higher chance of being launched in the Indian market.

Needless to say, these upcoming MG premium cars will command a hefty premium over the existing range of MG cars, which already are on the premium end of the market. However, there are a plenty of low-mileage used MG cars on sale, which are capable of delivering an experience equivalent of a new car at a much affordable price tag. 

MG Select showrooms across 12 Indian cities

Alongside the announcement of upcoming luxury models, MG Motor India has also revealed its plans to set-up 12 MG Select premium showrooms, which will retail these upcoming premium range of cars. MG Motor India will set-up these premium Select showrooms in 12 cities across the country, which are yet to be disclosed. These MG Select showrooms would have a lot more premium experience over the regular MG dealerships in order to cater to a different audience base.

MG Cyberster electric roadster details

The international-spec MG Cyberster comes in two configurations: a single-motor version producing 340PS and 475Nm, and a dual-motor version generating 510PS and 725Nm. Both variants are powered by a 77kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 507km and 443km, respectively. The single-motor version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds, while the dual-motor version does it in just 3.2 seconds. MG will introduce the higher-spec powertrain option in the Indian market.
