MG Electric CUV To Be Called Windsor — All Details

MG Motor India is gearing up for an all new launch, bringing its latest electric CUV to the Indian market. Known globally as the Cloud EV under the Wuling brand, the CUV will go on sale in the Indian market under JSW MG Motor India brand with the name Windsor. In this article, we share the exterior and interior details and specifications of the Wuling Cloud EV that is on sale in the Indonesian market and what we expect to come to the Indian market with the Windsor. 

MG Windsor Electric CUV Details

As we stated earlier, the India-bound MG Windsor is already on sale in several global markets including Indonesia, where it’s called the Wuling Cloud EV. Like in the past, we do not expect MG Motor India to bring radical changes to the electric CUV compared to the global-spec model, except for the rebranding that is required for the Indian market. MG Motor India has teased the Windsor multiple times and we expect the carmaker to take the wraps off of its new model pretty soon.

MG Windsor Battery, Motor Specifications

Globally, the Wuling Cloud EV/MG Windsor comes with a 50.6kWh battery pack, which sits on a skateboard EV platform. The battery pack feeds power to a front-mounted single motor that can be driven for up to 460 km on a single charge. The permanent magnet synchronous electric motor produces 134PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Coming to the charging, the Windsor is capable of replenishing its battery from 30-100% in under 30 minutes via a DC fast charger. An AC charger, on the other hand, takes around 7 hours for a 20-100% charge. 

MG Windsor Features

Like in the case with other MG models, the MG Windsor will come packed with loads of features. A few of these features, which are also on offer with the global model, include automatic LED headlights with connected light bar, 18-inch alloy wheels, powered front seats, 15.6-inch infotainment system, an 8.8-inch TFT instrument cluster, Level-2 ADAS features, front and rear armrests with storage, 360-degree parking camera, electric tail gate and more.

MG Windsor Expected Price And Rivals

MG is yet to reveal the complete details of the India-spec Windsor. At this point, we expect the carmaker to price the new electric Windsor CUV between the range of 25 - 30 lakh ex-showroom. As a result, the Windsor will go up against the likes of the BYD Atto 3, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV.
