MG cars January 2025 sales record 256% YoY increase — All details

MG Motor India has released its January 2025 sales results that reveal a year-on-year increase of 256%. Like before, the majority of sales are contributed by the EV portfolio that includes models like the ZS EV, Comet EV and Windsor EV. Read on to know more about the MG cars January 2025 sales.

MG cars January 2025 sales report

MG Motor India sold 4,455 units in January 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 256% compared to the same period last year. Such a dramatic increase in demand can be attributed to the popularity of electric vehicles. So much so that 70% of MG Motor India sales in the month of January 2025 came from the EV portfolio. The two popular EV models from MG Motor India are the Windsor EV and ZS EV, with the former being the best-selling EV of India for the past few months.

MG Windsor EV details

The MG Windsor EV is among the best-selling MG models in India and also one of the best-selling EVs in the country. It has received a positive response since its launch thanks to its attractive pricing and intriguing battery-as-a-service program, which enables the user to rent the battery for a nominal amount every month, thereby reducing the attainable price of the vehicle. Speaking of price, MG Motor India recently announced a price hike for the Windsor EV, which affected the range by a price increase of Rs 50,000 across variants.

Upcoming MG Cars in India

MG Motor India has confirmed its plans to launch four new luxury cars in the Indian market by 2026. Now there are two very important things to note here; first being the fact that these models will consist of pure EVs and hybrids and second, all these models will be sold by MG’s premium range of Select dealerships. Out of these four models, two have already been confirmed that are the Cyberster electric roadster and M9 electric van. Both these models were showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025 and are aligned to be launched in 2025.
