MG car sales October 2024 — EVs take over

We have been saying an increasing share of electric vehicle sales for MG Motor India, with almost a 50-50 split in our previous report. Looking at the data for October 2024, the sales of EVs has overtaken that of ICE vehicles by a huge margin, a major contributor being the new MG Windsor EV. Here’s more on the MG car sales in October 2024 in India.

Year-on-year performance

JSW MG Motor India sold 7,045 cars and SUVs in India in the month of October 2024. This number does not take into account the number of units sold in Telangana. The number of units sold in the same month last year was 5,108, which also included the number of units sold in Telangana. The company has reported an year-on-year growth of 34%.

Month-on-month performance

Month-on-month sales also grew by a handsome margin, with 7,045 units sold in October 2024 against 4,588 sold in September 2024. Please note that the sales numbers stated in this story reflect the number of units dispatched to dealers and they might vary from the actual number of units sold by dealerships.

MG electric vehicle sales in India

Electric vehicle sales have dominated over that of ICE vehicles, representing around 70% of the brand’s total retail sales in India. The MG Windsor EV has been a major contributing factor to this trend, with 3,116 units of the EV sold within the first month of its launch. The innovative Battery as a Service pricing model has also seemed to help MG’s cause in promoting electric vehicle sales in India. The current lineup of MG electric vehicles in India includes MG ZS EV, MG Windsor EV, and MG Comet EV.
