Mercedes-Benz India has launched two new products in the Indian market, further expanding its portfolio. The newly-launched models include the CLE Cabriolet and the AMG GLC 43 Coupe. Surprisingly, both the CLE Cabriolet and AMG GLC 43 Coupe have been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.1 crore. Read on to know more about the latest models from Mercedes-Benz India and also what’s there in store in the coming months.

Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet Launched

Let’s begin with the CLE Cabriolet that has been launched in the Indian market at Rs 1.10 crore ex-showroom. The CLE Cabriolet replaces the C-Class Cabriolet and E-Class Cabriolet, under the Mercedes-Benz’ effort to cut down on excessive body style options. It is worth mentioning that the E 53 AMG Cabriolet is currently on sale in the Indian market but it will soon be discontinued and replaced by the CLE Cabriolet.

The CLE Cabriolet has been launched in India in the CLE 300 variant, which features a 2.0-litre mil-hybrid turbocharged petrol engine. Its four-cylinder engine puts out 258PS of power and 400Nm of torque. The presence of a 48V electric motor further provides a temporary boost of 22PS and 250Nm, as and when demanded. The engine transfers power to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

On the features front, the CLE Cabriolet offers a vertical touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, coloured head-up display, augmented reality navigation system, sports seats, Dolby Atmos sound system and a fabric soft-top roof in red and black colour options. Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz is offering the CLE Cabriolet in 8 exterior colour options and 3 interior upholstery colour options.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe Launched

The popular AMG GLC 43 Coupe returns to India in its new generation. The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe price has gone up to Rs 1.11 crore ex-showroom since the new model is brought to the market via the CBU route whereas the outgoing model was assembled locally in Pune, Maharashtra. While the price has gone up, the engine displacement has gone down as the new GLC 43 Coupe now packs a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.

Thankfully, the engine packs some serious punch — 421PS of power and 500Nm of torque. As a result, the GLC 43 AMG accelerates from 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds, which comes courtesy of its all-wheel-drive system. It also features a 9-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel steering for better agility and handling. Needless to say, the GLC 43 AMG also packs a lot of AMG specific details like sports seats, aggressive bumpers, quad sport exhaust, AMG steering and alloy wheel designs.

Alongside the launch of the GLC 43 AMG Coupe and CLE Cabriolet, Mercedes-Benz India has also confirmed the launch of its flagship electric model in India. The new Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV India launch is slated to take place September 5, 2024. The new model will sit above the entire model range of the German carmaker in India and redefine the electric mobility space with its sheer opulence and luxury.
