Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the C 63 S E Performance sports sedan in India on November 12. The C 63 S E Performance will complete the C-Class lineup in India since the executive sedan is already available in petrol, diesel and 43 AMG iterations. Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance details
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance tops the C-Class range globally thanks to its Formula-1-derived powertrain offering ballistic performance. The C 63 S E Performance will join Mercedes-AMG’s plug-in-hybrid performance lineup that includes models such as the GT 63 S E Performance as well as the S 63 S E Performance. The new flagship C-Class now uses a plug-in-hybrid 2.0-litre turbocharged powertrain in place of a twin-turbocharged V8, which was on offer with the last iteration.

Speaking further about the AMG C 63 S E Performance’ powertrain, it uses a plug-in-hybrid unit along with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-banger. The engine alone puts out 476PS of power and 545Nm of torque. With the boost from the hybrid setup, the outputs jump to a whooping 680PS and 1020Nm of torque, which is much more than its class rivals. Furthermore, it is also capable of driving for over 13km on sole battery power. To put all the torque down to the ground, the sports sedan uses a 9-speed automatic transmission coupled with all-wheel-drive, resulting in a 0-100kmph sprint time of 3.3 seconds.

Speaking of the exterior details, the C 63 S E Performance boasts multiple AMG-specific elements like a sportier grille with vertical slats, larger air inlets at the front, AMG-spec alloy wheels, flared fenders with AMG badging and quad exhaust pipes. On the inside, it comes finished in an all-black interior coupled with a weave-carbon-fibre finish on the crash pad. Other details include sports seats with Alcantara finish, ambient lighting, a vertically-stacked touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and AMG steering wheel with configurable controls.

As we mentioned at the beginning, Mercedes-Benz will launch the AMG C 63 S E Performance on November 12. It will further extend the AMG portfolio in the country and give choice to buyers who want a more powerful C-Class over the C 43 AMG. When it comes to competition, the C 63 S E Performance will go head to head with the Audi RS 5 in the Indian market. However, thanks to its cutting-edge hybrid powertrain, it will command a much higher price tag exceeding over a crore when it gets launched on November 12.
