From Family friendly to bestseller — Maruti WagonR

Looking back at the WagonR’s history, it was first introduced with the “Tall Boy” design, which stood out for its spacious interior. This feature quickly became a unique selling point among buyers. According to Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, “Approximately 44% of our sales come from first-time buyers, and one in every four customers chooses to repurchase the iconic WagonR. This highlights the strong trust customers have in the brand.”

Interestingly, the Maruti WagonR CNG, launched in 2010, has recorded over 6.6 lakh unit sales to date, making it India’s highest-selling CNG model.
 

Maruti Suzuki WagonR prices & features

The Maruti WagonR price starts at Rs 5.54 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.20 lakh. It is available in four variants: LXI, VXI, ZXI & ZXI+. Maruti WagonR features include a 7-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speakers, steering-mounted audio and voice controls, idle start-stop, remote keyless entry, reclining and front sliding seats, air conditioning with a heater, and more.
 

On the safety side, it comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ESP, a security alarm, rear parking sensors, central locking, speed-sensing auto door locks, and a speed alert system, among other features

2024 Maruti WagonR engine options

The Maruti WagonR engine options include a 1.0L petrol engine and a 1.2L petrol engine. Both are available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. Additionally, the CNG powertrain option is offered exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission.
