Maruti Suzuki sales in March 2025 — Domestic sales fall, exports rise

Maruti Suzuki has released its sales numbers for the month of March 2025. The Indian-Japanese carmaker has reported a fall in domestic sales and a rise in exports, resulting in a net positive growth. Here’s a detailed report on the Maruti Suzuki sales in March 2025.

Please note that the sales numbers stated above reflect the number of units dispatched to dealers and they might vary from the actual number of units sold by dealerships. Furthermore, these numbers include sales of both passenger vehicles as well as Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV). Maruti Suzuki has just one LCV on sale currently, the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry. This also includes the vehicles sold by MSIL to other OEMs, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited in this case.
MoM and YoY analysis

MSIL recorded a net 3.2% fall in sales in March 2025 when compared to numbers from February 2025. Domestic sales took a big hit, falling 8.2%, while exports rose by 31.8%. Year-on-year performance also saw a slight fall in domestic sales, but the exports rose by a healthy margin, taking the overall growth to a positive 3.1%.

Maruti Suzuki passenger vehicle sales in India

Speaking of domestic sales, Maruti sold 1,50,743 cars and SUVs. Additionally, it sold 6,882 vehicles to other OEMs (Toyota). On a side note, Maruti is reportedly planning to discontinue the Maruti Ciaz sedan from the Indian market, keeping in mind the declining demand for sedans in India.
