Maruti Suzuki June 2024 Sales: Records 12% YoY Growth

Amid all automakers announcing their June 2024 sales and sales for the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25, the market leader Maruti Suzuki has also come out with its own numbers. MSIL registered a record-breaking sales figure of 179,228 units in June 2024, which was a 12% growth from June last year. As per the latest Maruti Suzuki June 2024 sales, Maruti sold more cars than Mahindra, Tata and Kia combined.
Maruti Suzuki June 2024 Sales: Domestic Market
Out of the 1.79 Lakh units sold in June 2024, Maruti Suzuki’s domestic market sales for passenger cars accounted for 137,160 units. Light commercial vehicles contributed another 2,758 units to the total figure and 8,277 units were sold to other OEMs.

Maruti Suzuki June 2024 Exports
Maruti Suzuki June 2024 exports also saw a huge rise as compared to last year’s exports. MSIL exported 31,033 units in June 2024, which was a 57% increase from 19,770 units exported in the same period last year.

Maurti Suzuki FY25 Q1 Sales
Maruti Suzuki India reported its quarterly sales along with the sales for June 2024. The sales for Q1 of FY2024-25 stood at 521,868 units, which was an increase of 4.8% from last year’s sales. Exports for the quarter also rose from 63,218 units last year to 70,560, indicating a healthy 11.6% YoY growth.
SUV’s Leading The Pack
In the domestic market, a major part of the growth was accredited to the SUVs and MPVs in MSIL’s portfolio. Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Fronx, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Invicto, XL6 and the Jimny contributed to 52,373 units of domestic sales, an increase of 8,969 units from last year, resulting in a 20.6% growth. The Eeco also saw a rise in sales this June. A similar trend was seen in the quarterly sales numbers.

Sedan and Small Car Sales Fall Massively
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the brand’s only mid-size sedan, saw a 67% fall in sales number. Maruti sold just 572 units of the Ciaz this June, as opposed to 1,744 units in June 2023. Sales of the ‘mountain king’ Alto and the S-Presso also fell from 14,054 units in June 2023 to 9,395 units in June 2024. The compact cars segment, which includes products such as Baleno, Swift and WagonR saw a slight decline in sales.
