Maruti Suzuki Fronx – What is it?
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, in plain words, is a crossover based on the Maruti Baleno. It is built on the same platform and borrows its powertrains from the latter as well, though it also gets one that the Baleno misses on. The Fronx features an aggressive styling on the exterior and a unique dual-tone interior on the inside.

What makes it different from the Baleno?
The Fronx engine options also include a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine that is not seen on the Baleno at the moment. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AT. The enhanced power output makes it appeal to the enthusiast buyer and goes against the likes of the Hyundai i20 N Line and Tata Altroz Racer. The Baleno RS did use to get a turbo-petrol too before it was discontinued. The suspension setup is tuned a bit differently than the Baleno and a higher stance to give it an SUV-ish vibe.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx sales
The Maruti Fronx has been another best-seller for the Indo-Japanese carmaker, owing to its SUV-like stance, aggressive styling and an overall appealing offering. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx domestic sales has crossed the 2 lakh milestone in just 17 months of its launch here. This number, however, indicates the number of units dispatched to the dealerships and may vary from the number of units actually sold to customers. Nonetheless, the Fronx has done quite well for Maruti Suzuki, as well as for Toyota, which sells the car under the Urban Cruiser Taisor badge.
