Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire spotted — Not another Swift with a boot!

After launching the Maruti Suzuki Swift earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki is now gearing up to launch the Dzire sub-compact sedan. A new set of spy shots of the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire recently surfaced online, revealing a plethora of details. Most important of them all is the fact that this time around, the Dzire is not going to be just another Swift with an extended boot. The spied images show clear design distinction between the two models that we have tried to explain in the article below. Read on!

Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire spotted

Over the past three generations, the Dzire has always been an extension of the Swift, dimensionally, with the rest of the parameters remaining more or less the same. However, Maruti Suzuki is set to change that with the new-gen Dzire. The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is going to look significantly different over the Swift. The new spy shots reveal a new set of LED headlights, which look vastly different to the ones found on the Swift.

While the Swift comes with stubby sweptback LED headlights with a thin strip of LED DRL, the Dzire seems to have an elongated set of LED headlights with the LED DRLs sneaking out of the clusters and merging into the grille. Therefore, we expect the Dzire to have a stronger presence on the road with an enhanced sense of width over the Swift. Furthermore, we also expect the Dzire to offer other changes such as a different design for the dual-tone alloy wheels and new LED tail lights as well.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire to get 360-degree camera

Another detail clearly visible in the spy shots is the inclusion of camera placement on the outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs). This confirms that just like the Baleno and Brezza, the new Dzire will offer a 360-degree surround view camera. It is worth noting that the 360-degree parking camera is not offered with the smaller Swift. Other features expected in the new Dzire are 6 airbags, wireless smartphone charger, 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front and rear armrests and a twin-pod instrument cluster with LCD display.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire engine details

The new-gen Dzire will share its 1.2-litre Z-series engine with the new Swift. Replacing the 4-cylinder with the new 3-cylinder engine, the new Dzire will offer enhanced fuel efficiency as well. In the Swift, the new 1.2-litre engine puts out 81PS of power at 5700rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4300rpm. Both the outputs are lower than the outputs of the 1.2-litre K-series engine offered in the ongoing Dzire sedan. The new engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire launch timeline

Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the new Dzire in November 2024, closer to the festive season. The new Dzire will go against the likes of the Honda Amaze, which is also due for a generation change next year, alongside the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor.
