As the new year 2025 begins, the market is already buzzing with carmakers' sales performance figures. With the first days of the year, the focus is on which automakers performed the best in December, which brands saw a decline, and so on.
Among these, Maruti Suzuki December 2024 sales stands out, recording a total of 178,248 units sold, along with the highest-ever monthly exports of 37,419 units. While some select models have seen a significant increase in sales compared to December 2023, the overall growth for the fiscal year shows a decent jump. December 2024 sales of Maruti Suzuki cars hit 178,248 units
In the monthly sales growth of Maruti Suzuki cars, models like the Alto and S-Presso saw the highest year-on-year (YOY) growth, with combined sales rising from 2,557 units in December 2023 to 7,418 units in December 2024. The compact and SUV segments also experienced notable growth, with sales increasing by 20.04% and 21.08%, respectively. Other segments in the December 2024 sales of Maruti Suzuki cars also showed growth, though the mid-size Ciaz model saw a decline of 5.12%, with only 464 units sold in December 2024.
Sales to other OEMs also saw a positive change, rising to 8,306 units, compared to 4,175 units in December 2023. As for Maruti Suzuki cars export sales, the total reached 37,419 units, marking a 39.34% YOY increase. When combining both export and domestic sales of Maruti in December 2024, total sales hit 178,248 units, showing a 29.58% YOY growth.

Maruti car sales grow by 5.06% in the fiscal year
Looking at the April to December fiscal year 2024-2025 growth of Maruti Suzuki, the story takes an interesting turn. The SUV segment, which includes models like the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6, saw a growth of 14.86%, with 528,963 units sold compared to 460,588 units in the April-December FY 2023-24. However, the Maruti Ciaz model's sales performance declined by 34.05%.
On a positive note, sales to other OEMs saw a significant increase, rising by 87.68% and reaching 81,199 units. Overall, Maruti Suzuki's total sales for the period saw a 5.06% increase, with a total of 1,629,631 units sold.
