This move makes the Celerio the most affordable car in the Indian market to offer 6 airbags as standard, overtaking the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which held this crown up until now. Higher variants of the Celerio also see the inclusion of hill-hold assist, which happens to be the segment-first feature, claimed by Maruti Suzuki. The inclusion of 6 airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers will surely enhance the overall safety package in the hatchback, which is otherwise struggling to keep up with the cult popularity of its stable mate—the Wagon-R.
