Mahindra has a lot of EVs in the pipeline, and these are set to launch in India sooner or later. While we wait for these exciting releases, test mules of these EVs have been spotted on the roads quite frequently. The latest buzz comes from fresh spy shots of the Mahindra XUV.e8's interior. These images give a clear look at its cabin, showcasing a large three-screen setup across the dashboard, which left many viewers amazed. Let’s dive deeper into these spy shots and explore all the new and existing details surrounding this much-anticipated EV.
A look at the design cues
The Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected to launch either by the end of this year or in the first half of 2024. Based on the test mule's exterior design seen over time, we can now make out the details of this model. The EV's side profile looks quite similar to its ICE version. At the rear, the design also resembles the XUV700, especially due to the similar taillamp styling on both models. However, the front of the XUV.e8 will stand out with its connected lighting DRLs that stretch from right to left, forming a "Ɪ" shape horizontally just below the bonnet. There’s also a distinct headlamp cluster that adds to its modern look.

Interior highlights and safety features
As seen in this recent spy shot, the XUV.e8 will feature a large screen setup with three connected displays: one for the driver, one for infotainment, and one for the passenger. It is also expected to include automatic climate control, ventilated seats, a wireless charger, one-touch up-and-down door windows with anti-pinch technology, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, and a twin-spoke steering wheel, among other features.
For safety, this EV is expected to have six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a blind view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, TPMS, EPB with auto hold, ABS, electronic stability control, traction control, all-wheel disc brakes, and hill descent control. Plus, it will likely offer Level 2 ADAS for enhanced safety on the road.
Battery options, anticipated pricing & rival models
Under the hood, the battery options for this EV haven’t been officially announced yet. However, it’s expected that there will be two choices: a 60 kWh and an 80 kWh battery. With these options, the EV is anticipated to deliver an impressive WLTP-claimed range of up to 450 km.
When it comes to pricing, it is expected to be priced between Rs 34 lakh and Rs 40 lakh. In terms of competition, this EV will go up against models like the BYD Atto 3, the upcoming Tata Harrier EV, and the Tata Safari EV, among others.
