The Mahindra XUV400 EV has recently received its Bharat NCAP safety rating, and it has performed exceptionally well, earning a five-star rating for both child and adult occupant protection. This EV is available in two variants: EC Pro and EL Pro. Let’s take a closer look at the crash test results to understand just how safe this model really is.
Adult occupant protection
The Mahindra XUV400 EV has achieved an impressive score of 30.38 out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection test. This score includes results from two key crash tests that assess the safety of people sitting in the front row. In the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, it scored 14.38 out of 16, while in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, it received a perfect score of 16 out of 16.

Child occupant protection
The Mahindra XUV400 EV has received a child occupant protection score of 43 out of 49. This result is based on three tests involving the use of child restraint systems. In the dynamic tests, including front and side impacts, it scored a perfect 24 out of 24. The CRS installation received a full score of 12 out of 12, while the vehicle assessment test scored 7 out of 13. This score reflects the vehicle’s strong performance in child safety features, with a focus on secure CRS installation and crash test results.
Mahindra XUV400 EV safety features
The Mahindra XUV400 EV comes with a range of standard safety features designed to protect all occupants. These include dual airbags, a passenger airbag deactivation switch, ABS, seat belt reminders for the co-driver, EBD, ESC, and ESP. Additionally, it offers front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, ISOFIX child seat mounts, panic braking signals, rear parking sensors, and all four disc brakes for added security.
The higher-end EL Pro variant takes safety a step further, offering six airbags, a reverse camera with adaptive guidelines, and Hill Hold Assist, among other advanced features.
