Mahindra Thar ROXX MX3 Walkaround - Know What’s Inside

Mahindra is offering six variants for the new Mahindra Thar ROXX, in a total of 18 variations. Quite a lot, isn’t it? While most of the captivating features that you see in videos and read about in articles are only offered in the top variants of cars and SUVs, the MX3 variant of the Mahindra Thar, which is the second from the bottom of the ladder, isn’t as under equipped as you might expect it to be. Here’s what you can find inside the Thar ROXX MX3, with reference to a walkaround video that was posted on the internet.

Thar ROXX MX3 Interior

The MX3 variant of the 2024 Mahindra Thar ROXX has an interior that looks more off-road friendly owing to the presence of black fabric seats and hard plastics all over the dashboard. It does look dull though, if you view it from that perspective. The Thar ROXX showcased in the video has the 6-speed automatic ‘box. It does get an auto-dimming IRVM, and the same 

10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and wired Apple CarPlay. You also get cruise control, wireless charging, rear defogger and drive modes.

Thar ROXX MX3 Exterior

The Mahindra Thar ROXX MX3 gets a rear wiper and washer, which the base variant misses out on. The MX3 gets 18-inch steel wheels instead of alloys as seen in the video. There’s also a rear-mounted steel spare wheel that is covered to not make it look shabby. Rest of the exterior looks more or less identical on all Mahindra Thar ROXX variants. 

Safety Features

In terms of safety, it gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, brake disc wiping, brake locking differential and more such features that are available as standard on the Thar ROXX. The MX3 gets a rear view camera too. Rear disc brakes are offered exclusively on the MX3 petrol automatic variants.

What Does It Not Get?

Even though the Thar ROXX MX3 doesn’t look very under equipped, it does miss on quite a lot of features as compared to the maxed-out variants, which sit four notches up. For starters, the ROXX MX3 does not get 360-degree cameras, fog lamps, dual-tone interiors, leatherette upholstery for the seats, ADAS, the dual-screen setup, alloy wheels, soft-touch material on the dashboard, and something that might drive many buyers away from this variant and make them upgrade to something further up the ladder — a sunroof.
