Mahindra Thar ROXX Exterior Images Revealed — Top Things To Know

Ahead of the Mahindra Thar ROXX launch that is slated for August 15, 2024, Mahindra has revealed the exterior images showcasing the design of the upcoming family SUV. The Mahindra Thar ROXX is going to sit above the Thar 3-door and bring new design updates, which are also likely to trickle down to its younger sibling in the near future.

Mahindra Thar ROXX Exterior Design

The new images revealed by Mahindra showcase the complete exterior design of the upcoming Thar ROXX SUV. While we have seen the teaser images and videos of the black Thar ROXX, the new white colour brings additional design details to life. To begin with, the Thar ROXX will feature a new 6-slot grille featuring a chunkier design than the 3-door model. Additionally, it will come painted matching to the body colour while also integrating the round LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs.

Like the Thar 3-door, the Thar ROXX will also feature flared wheel arches with indicator housing and faux bonnet latches at either ends. The bumper will get prominent black cladding along with silver inserts and addition of LED fog lights. Around the side, the Thar ROXX will feature a new design for the dual-tone alloy wheels, which in the pictures, also look a size bigger than what we get to see in the Thar 3-door. Other details at the side include chunky ORVMs and rear door handles placed on the c-pillars. At the back, it will feature a new set of lights and tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Mahindra Thar ROXX Interior And Features

Based on information we have received from the teaser images and videos, we have learnt that the Thar ROXX will carry over the rugged dashboard layout from the Thar 3-door, albeit with a tinge of modernity. The latter comes in the form of a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, new steering wheel with twin-peak Mahindra logo, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and leatherette seat upholstery.

Mahindra Thar ROXX Engine Options

The Mahindra Thar ROXX will come powered with two engine options — a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel. Both the engine options already power a range of Mahindra SUVs including the Thar 3-door. However, since the Thar ROXX is bigger and heavier than its 3-door counterpart, the new Thar ROXX will feature more powerful tunes for both the petrol and diesel engine options. Reports claim that the output of the petrol engine could be 175PS and 370Nm whereas the diesel engine will offer 172PS and 370Nm of torque. We expect Mahindra to offer the Thar ROXX in both manual and automatic drivetrain configurations along with both rear- and four-wheel drivetrain options.

Mahindra Thar ROXX Launch, Bookings And Rivals

As we stated earlier, Mahindra Thar ROXX India launch will take place on August 15, 2024 and the bookings for the family SUV are also likely to begin on the same day. A few Mahindra dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the Thar ROXX, ahead of the official booking commencement. Coming to its rivals, the only sole rival of the Mahindra Thar ROXX is the Force Gurkha 5-door, however, it falls behind considerably in the creature comforts department.
