Mahindra September 2024 sales in India – SUVs keep pulling the cart!

Mahindra Auto continues to witness growth in sales for its SUVs, both in terms of domestic sales as well as exports. While sales for Light Commercial Vehicles took a slight hit in some categories, Mahindra Auto stayed in the green in terms of overall sales growth. Here is everything you need to know about the latest Mahindra September 2024 sales in India.

Please note that the sales numbers stated above reflect the number of units dispatched to dealers and they might vary from the actual number of units sold by dealerships. Furthermore, these numbers include sales of both passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles.

MoM and YoY analysis

Mahindra Auto saw a 16.2% growth in total sales in September 2024 as compared to the same month last year. While domestic sales grew by 15.9%, exports rose by a handsome 25.1%, resulting in a total increase of 12,235 units sold. When compared to last month’s sales, domestic sales grew by 15.1% while exports saw a marginal decline of 1.1%, resulting in a net increase in sales by 11,084 units that translates to roughly 14.4% growth month-on-month.

Mahindra passenger vehicle sales

Speaking of Mahindra’s passenger vehicles in isolation, the manufacturer saw a 24% rise in year-to-year sales, selling 51,062 SUVs in the domestic market in September 2024 as opposed to 41,267 units sold in September 2023. Exports contributed to another 1,528 units, taking the total Mahindra passenger vehicle sales in September 2024 to 52,590 units.

Mahindra commercial vehicle sales

Speaking about the domestic market, Mahindra Auto saw a 5.7% net growth for commercial vehicle sales. This includes the sales of Light Commercial Vehicles, Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles, as well as 3-wheelers, both ICE and electric. While the sales for LCV < 2T and LCV 2T - 3.5T witnessed a 13% decline and a 3% decline respectively, the sale for LCV > 3.5T + MHCV and 3-wheelers grew by 25% and 27% respectively.
