Outline

If you’re wondering what exactly an LM 350h is, we’ll tell you all about it in this story. Now, getting to the meat, the deliveries of the Lexus LM 350h have commenced in India. It is noteworthy that Lexus has managed to register triple-digit booking numbers for an MPV that costs over Rs 2 Crore. Isn’t that mad?

Lexus LM 350h To Hit Indian Roads

After the commencement of bookings in August last year, Lexus has started delivering the Lexus LM 350h to its customers. The LM 350h is based on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform, which also underpins the Toyota Vellfire and Toyota Alphard.

Lexus LM 350h: What Is It?

The Lexus LM 350h is an MPV (but an Innova Crysta is one, too). It is a hybrid (but an ES300h is one, too). It screams opulence (but an S-Class does that, too). So, what’s really special about this luxurious hybrid MPV? Well, it offers all of these, and is incomparable to any other vehicle in the market. Well, apart from its sister car — the Toyota Vellfire. But, it one-ups the Vellfire in every single aspect.

Lexus LM 350h: The Inside

Lexus describes the 7-Seater LM 350h as an airplane’s business class cabin, and the 4-Seater LM 350h’s seats as the first class ones. The second row is the place to be in the Lexus LM 350h VIP, though the third row doesn’t shy away at all in terms of providing space and comfort to its occupants. The VIP variant gets a 21-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, countless charging ports, a 14-inch ceiling mounted screen, and ventilated & massage seats with endless adjustments that offer comfort only a handful of cars can boast of. Your chauffeur won’t have any complaints either as there have been no compromises made at the front seats. The cabin features active noise cancellation, ambient lighting, and acoustic glass, to make a cocoon around its occupants.

If this wasn’t enough to satisfy some, there’s the 4-Seater Ultra Luxury version, which has a partition separating the driver’s compartment from the main cabin. There’s a massive 48-inch screen in the centre, with ample storage spaces, an umbrella holder, a refrigerator, 23 speakers, two detachable touch-screen controllers (also found on the VIP variant) for typically every quirk and feature inside the cabin, and individual climate control zones. There are airplane-style collapsable tables too, on both the variants.

Lexus LM 350h Powertrain, Suspension & Other Mechanical Components

Driving this woolly mammoth is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder unit, which is assisted by a 259.2V battery and two electric motors. Paired to a CVT gearbox, the engine generates 190hp and 242Nm of torque. The 134kW front motor has a peak torque of 270Nm, and the 40kW rear motor has a peak torque of 121Nm. The combined power output of the system is 247hp. If you were to push it, the LM 350h can reach 100kph from standstill in just 8.7 seconds, and it isn’t even supposed to be a fast machine!

The suspension settings are tuned to provide maximum comfort to the passengers. It gets dampers to further reduce the road noise, ensuring a serene cabin experience. The LM 350h gets 19-inch wheels that look elegant on the go. There is, obviously, roll while turning the giant car, but Lexus has deployed a certain Vehicle Braking Posture Control mechanism to minimise it. It also boasts of a host of safety features, including ADAS.

Lexus LM 350h Price

The 7-Seater VIP variant of this humongous van is priced at Rs 2 Crore (ex-showroom). The top-of-the-line 4-Seater Ultra Luxury variant will require you to shell out another Rs 50 Lakh from your pocket. Does this piece sound more like a brochure? Well, there isn’t much to complain about the Lexus LM 350h.
